Sandoval Engineering specializes in the areas of mechanical and electrical engineering. Our design team is supported by professional estimating personnel with construction experience specializing in the construction of commercial buildings, warehouses, manufacturing plants, indoor swimming facilities (natatoriums), laboratories, vivarium, auditoriums, universities, elementary schools, middle and high schools. Our gained experience and expertise gives us the ability to provide accurate construction costs associated with our designs, while providing a contractor perspective and verification. These unique capabilities allow our firm to minimize engineering omissions and additive cost change orders during construction.
Sandoval Engineering protocol requires that all designs meet the quality requirements for design. Quality control is ensured by developing and following design guidelines and procedures. Sandoval Engineering utilizes design checklists to assist engineers and designers in performing reasonable and prudent self-checks prior to undergoing peer review back-checks of all designs. Peer and inter-disciplinary reviews are conducted and discussed thru weekly coordination meetings. Although peer reviews are conducted on a weekly base, formal peer review check-prints and check-lists are recorded and filed at the 50, 75, 80, 90 and 100 % design phase given that all levels of design require different levels of review and different checklists of approvals. Quality assurance of our designs are verified by completed check-prints and check-lists containing Sandoval Engineering Review Check-Stamps and an Interdisciplinary Review Check-Stamp, which including title pages, dates, and initials of each reviewer.

Building Automation
Building Automation or computerized intelligent network of electronic devices, for monitoring and controlling mechanical and lighting systems in a building are systems regularly designed by our firm. Building Automation systems insure that the building climate be maintained within a specified range, providing lighting based on an occupancy schedule, and monitors systems performance and device failures. A Building Automation system reduces building energy consumption and maintenance costs when compared to a non-controlled building. Sandoval Engineering has extensive experience with various types of Building Automation System (BAS).

We strongly believe against all negative environmental impacts, and base our designs on healthy, environmentally friendly and energy efficient practices and embrace the concept of sustainable design and LEED Certification as developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. Our staff is trained and experienced with respect to commissioning and LEED requirements. We understand the protocols and service demanded for these activities.
